Further recycling

The list below shows how to recycle items we that were not collected today.  They are not in our collections as many items are bulky or because people already know about them:

  • Outdoor gear: Rohan collect waterproofs, rucksacks, boots, gloves etc and distribute to needy children and adults with their ‘Gift Your Gear’ scheme. It is only available during March and September but when you donate you qualify for 15% off a new item.

  • Batteries: all supermarkets and retailers selling any product with a battery

  • Flowerpots, modules & trays: Otters, Fairweathers & Stewarts garden centres

  • Compost bags: Stewarts

  • Light bulbs: Efford Tip & Kew Electrical

  • ‘Soft’ plastics: See the note about these at our collection points today. We know that currently 75% of these collections are nor recycled, hence our support for Terracycle who DO recycle them.

Community Recycling Banks in NFDC car parks take:

  • Food and drinks cartons (like Tetrapaks), including straws and caps

  • Paper-based containers with metal ends, such as tubes used for crisps, gravy, and hot chocolate (please remove lids)

  • Dough paper containers

  • Paper and cardboard, tins, cans and aerosols, plastic bottles (that go in your recycling bag anyway)

In Lymington, the relevant NFDC car park is Cannon Street.

There are many charity shops who would welcome your goods:
