On May 11, we were delighted to take part in the CET (Climate Emergency Team) event – a day of networking, sharing, and strengthening campaigns with inspiring organisations from across the New Forest.

The day gave us a chance to present our shocking local water quality results – part of a growing campaign to tackle pollution in our rivers and streams. We also gave a short talk in the Climate Centre to raise awareness and spark action. This is a vital local issue that affects biodiversity, public health, and the quality of our environment.

Another highlight was partnering with Pennington Community Allotment to showcase a beautiful collection of pollinator-friendly plants. These attracted plenty of interest and conversation – it’s clear there’s real enthusiasm for biodiversity at every level.

We also made new connections, and renewed old ones, including with New Forest Fruit, who have invited us to one of their future events. And thanks to knowledge shared on the day, our Pennington allotment will become home to an Asian Hornet trap – a small but important step in protecting local bees.

Other themes at the CET included:

  • The wrap-up of this year’s Warm Homes campaign

  • Launching Planet over Profit

  • The links between climate and biodiversity

We left feeling energised, informed, and connected – a big thank you to all who made the day such a success.
